Become a Golf Enthusiast

Golf for Ladies

Golf can be played by anyone. You could have no experience at all, you might not have even picked up a golf club before. Perhaps you’ve had a few lessons in the past but not taken it any further. Whatever your situation, you can become a golf enthusiast.

As you may or may not know, golf takes many forms including:

  • practising on the driving range
  • improving your short game on a pitch and putt course
  • taking lessons
  • or even teaching.

There are many different ways of participating in the golfing community.

Par 3 courses are ideal for beginners, allowing a gentle introduction to the game. Once you feel comfortable with your ability to play and understand the rules of golf, and fancy putting those new skills to the test, you could take your new skills to a 9 hole course. A quick round with your friends on a 9 hole course will be very good practise and will take your experience to the next level. Once you feel comfortable with that, you could take it further to go on and play a full 18 hole course. You might even find yourself competing in tournaments.

If you’re not physically up to playing on the full 18, perhaps you could make the most of the shorter courses and perfect your short game. You should expand your golfing knowledge and learn as much as you can about the rules and techniques, and could start keeping up to date with professional golf series on the TV. If you’re really interested, you could look up the history of golf and get a real feel for the background of the sport, the traditions and learn about golfing legends. You might find yourself inspired.

You could look to work in a clubhouse, maybe become a golf pro and help teach the younger ones. Even if you’re not up for the full 18 courses, you can still go out on the par 3 or 9 hole courses here and there. Most clubs sell ladies golf clothing and equipment and have active ladies’ teams so you can make new friends and feel part of the community.

Anyone can get involved in golf, and anyone can become a golf enthusiast. So why not you? You will be welcomed and appreciated in becoming a member of the golfing community, no matter what your position. It is an excellent form of socialising. By becoming a member of a club or regularly playing, you are guaranteed to make new friends. It will surely become your new favourite hobby, keeping you fit and it can even reduce stress (well, that depends on how well your round goes of course!).
