Brand Ambassador Mary Thomson reviews the Highland Wind Defence Cardigan
Our Ambassador Mary Thomson reviewed the Highland Wind Defence Cardigan recently. Here’s what she had to say about it.
The full zip of this cardigan allows the cardigan to be removed easily. Do you like the full length zip or would you prefer a different fastening and if so, what? Would you like a lined wind defence garment without a fastening i.e. as a V or crew neck sweater?
I love the full length zip. This cardigan is so easy to remove on returning to the clubhouse, or to undo the zip partially on the course on fine days. I have a club wind defence sweater which I rarely use because it is not easily adjusted.
Are there any other colours that you would like to see this style in? Do you like the pattern? Would you prefer the pattern to be on the front only or do you like the pattern showing on both the front and the back of the garment?
Because it is so versatile, I think grey and white would be useful. As would navy and white, which is always a popular combination. I like the pattern to be continued across the back in this design of garment.
What are your thoughts on having pockets in cardigans and sweaters? Do you think this style would be better if it did not have pockets?
I usually prefer not to have pockets in knitted garments, but with wind defence reinforcement I have to say the pockets were very useful and were kept in good shape.
This garment is great for on and off the golf course. Where did you wear yours? Did you wear it as an outer garment or with a gilet/jacket?
I wore it first to lunch at the club, before I was back playing, so that the lady members could see it, and I assured them all of its comfort as a casual cardigan. I wore it today on my first 18 holes of golf, and as the weather was unusually good, wore it with a cotton polo neck only.
How did you feel after your game of golf in terms of comfort and ease of movement when wearing this cardigan?
I thought it extremely comfortable (and stylish) with absolutely no restrictions on movement. I cannot speak highly enough of it.
In brief, describe this garment in your own words. Please tell us of any changes to the garment/fit of the garment you think necessary.
This wind defence cardigan is all any lady golfer needs in terms of comfort, style and wearability both on and off the course. The full length zip makes it easy to put on and off, and the pockets are more than adequate for tees, ball markers and a handkerchief.
