Brand Ambassador Tracy Higgs reviews the Long Sleeve Polo Shirt
Our Ambassador Tracy Higgs reviewed the Long Sleeve Polo Shirt recently. Here’s what she had to say about it.
Do you like the unique layered look of this polo shirt with the sewn in sleeves? Do you like the colour combination of the sleeves?
Wasn't sure when I first saw the shirt as the sewn in sleeves looked like an add on, but it looks much nicer when worn. Quite a few people like a layered look and wear a short sleeved top over a long sleeved one, so this shirt is a good idea as it is much neater than having to wear two tops together.
How do you find the overall fit of this garment? Would you like to see this garment with a short or three quarter length sleeves?
The shirt fits well but I think short sleeves would be preferable for ease of movement whilst playing golf, due to the clingy feel from the long sleeved version.
Would you like to see a different combination on the sleeves? Would you like to see the sleeves in a plain contrasting colour?
This colour combination works as it is not too loud and it is practical (it doesn't show any mark or dirt) if it's muddy on the course, and gives an option of picking up any of the featured colours used in the stripes to complement any pairs of trousers etc worn with the shirt, but I think it would be slightly smarter in a plain contrasting colour.
This polo shirt is great for golf and leisure. Where did you wear yours? What did you wear it with?
On the golf course I wore it with navy trousers and navy ¾ trousers. While shopping I teamed it with denims and on a cycle ride I teamed it with navy leggings.
How did you feel after your game of golf in terms of comfort and ease of movement when wearing this garment?
I found the long sleeves (striped part) a bit clingy and restricting when I swung my golf clubs and found myself forever pushing up the sleeves to try and release the pull. I actually pushed them up to my elbow and kept them there whereby I felt I had more freedom of movement when teeing off. It is a very practical top and feels very soft with a good cotton content but I would have preferred it in 100% cotton so not as clingy on the sleeves.
In brief, describe this garment in your own words. Please also tell us of any changes to the garment/fit of the garment you think necessary.
Practical and useful shirt which looks nice on. Ideal to wear with denim as an everyday shirt, but can be jazzed up with trousers etc in any of the colours featured in the striped sleeves i.e cerise, green, etc. I feel this shirt would look nicer as a short sleeved top with stripes down the sleeves to match the placket.
