To Wear or Not To Wear
Not sure how to dress for your first round of golf? Unsure of what is appropriate? Well look no further. We’re here to help you get an understanding of the proper golf clothing for women.
What is appropriate for a golf course? What is not?
So, what is appropriate to wear on the golf course? First and foremost, jeans and t-shirts are generally not accepted at the majority of private, semi-private and resort golf courses. However some smaller local courses may allow it. If you’re unsure, we’d recommend checking first. Why not simply give your local club a call and ask what the proper etiquette is?
Most courses ask ladies to wear a blouse or shirt that has a collar. Blouses can be sleeveless or have sleeves. The majority of ladies wear a polo shirt. There are numerous styles and colours to choose from, including v-necks and zip tops. Vest tops are usually strictly unacceptable.
Smart casual trousers are commonly worn in golf, as are capris, crops and shorts. Golf dresses and skorts (a combination of a skirt and shorts) are popular. However we’d advise that you stay away from wearing sun dresses, sweats and athletic pants.
Most courses require golf shoes. The majority of those courses will require that the spikes on your shoes are non-metal. Generally ladies wear ankle socks. To protect yourself from the sun, ladies tend to wear a cap or visor. We have an array of shoes, hats and socks in our golf accessories range. There are many styles and colours to choose from.
What about golf outerwear?
Sweaters are widely accepted, but denim jackets and heavily branded sweatshirts are certainly not. Remember, you want to stay warm, smart and comfortable on the course. You don’t want any restriction to your movement. We have an excellent range of outerwear that are designed to both keep you looking good and not affect your swing.
We offer clothes and accessories from a variety of golf brands. Why don’t you have a look through our range and find something to wear on your first game? Let us know your favourite golf outfit in the comments below.
